A large mid-20th century wooden locker cabinet salvaged from a British railway depot.
Constructed in painted timber with eight individual compartments, each retaining its original stencilled numbering (173–180). The cabinet features traditional external strap hinges and simple latch closures, with a deep brown industrial paint finish worn naturally through years of use.
The generous locker compartments and sequential numbering suggest use within a railway parcel office or equipment store, a common form of institutional storage used during the era of British Railways and earlier railway companies.
Standing at two metres tall, the cabinet has a strong architectural presence while remaining highly practical for modern interiors. The interior plywood compartments are clean and spacious, making it ideal for use as pantry storage, studio organisation, retail display or general household storage.
The surface wear, marks and patina all form part of its authentic industrial character.
A genuine and practical piece of British railway salvage.
