A wonderfully timeworn early 20th century painted pine travel chest, retaining its original hand-painted “F.T. WILLIAMSON” lettering to the front and full rustic country house character throughout.
Constructed from solid pine with iron strapwork reinforcement, rope carrying handles and a beautifully worn deep reddish-brown painted surface developed through decades of genuine use.
The chest retains its original lock and key, while the hasp and staple appear to be later additions, likely added during its working life for extra security.
A highly versatile decorative piece, ideal for use as a coffee table, blanket box, hallway storage chest or interior statement piece within rustic, industrial, farmhouse or country interiors.
