Description: Decorative early 20th century Italian wooden pedestal or torchère stand, finished in parcel gilding with polychrome painted decoration.
Featuring a distinctive spiral-fluted column with traces of original gilding and a colourful painted band to the lower section, giving the piece plenty of character and visual appeal. The surface has developed a wonderfully aged, distressed appearance over time, with obvious areas of wear, rubbing and losses to the painted and gilded finish that contribute to its authentic antique charm.
A versatile decorative piece suitable for displaying sculpture, plants, urns or simply as a statement stand-alone interior feature.
