Arts & Crafts High-Spindle Back Elbow Chair in Oak and Elm, c.1890

£32500

A beautifully proportioned late Victorian to Edwardian Arts & Crafts high-back elbow chair, c.1890–1910, crafted in solid oak with steam-bent elm arms. The design draws on traditional Windsor forms, elevated with a tall crest rail, slender turned spindles, and wonderfully sculptural curved arm supports.

This piece has been sympathetically restored, with the old varnish carefully removed, the timber lightly refined and newly waxed to enhance the grain and bring warmth back to the surface while retaining its age, character, and gentle wear.
