A decorative early 20th century chinoiserie nest of three tables, retailed by W. Charles Tozer of Brook Street, London.
Each table features a shaped serpentine top finished in black lacquer with gilt and polychrome oriental scenes depicting pagodas, figures and landscape motifs. The tables stand on elegant turned spindle legs with brass collar details and graduated frames allowing them to nest neatly together.
The lacquer surfaces display attractive age-related craquelure and wear, giving the set a warm and authentic character typical of early 20th century chinoiserie revival furniture.
