19th century walnut campaign style steamer chair - E W Godwin.
The production of this chair is accredited to William Watt who produced quality furniture for the british architect Edward Godwin, c1880.
Superb craftsmanship, the turned and bend walnut backrest spindles are typical of designs around the aesthetics movement. Excellent original condition and a rare find, although this chair was designed to be used it is small and delicate, it's longevity and value would be maximised if used purely as a decorative piece. A nice addition for the collectors.
The walut campaign tripod is of the same design and period but is for photographic purposes only and unfortunately not part of the listing.
