A handsome 19th-century wooden armchair with a beautifully turned frame, shaped arms and a distinctive spindle back.
Believed to be predominantly elm, with a dark, distressed finish that shows plenty of character and attractive wear from age and use. The woven rush seat appears to have been renewed at some point, offering a fresh contrast against the aged timber.
A lovely piece of traditional vernacular furniture, equally at home in a farmhouse interior, country house or eclectic contemporary setting.
An attractive antique with honest signs of age and use throughout.
